A unique chocolate from the Casa Cacao chocolate manufactory: The cocoa from Hacienda Victoria in Ecuador was macerated with The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old whisky for six months after fermentation and drying. The resulting chocolate bar was awarded a Bronze medal at the Academy of Chocolate Awards and a Silver medal at the International Chocolate Awards.
“Casa Cacao” is more than just a manufactory for exceptional chocolate – it is also a hotel and café. In Girona, near Barcelona, Jordi Roca and his team have been producing exquisite chocolates since 2018. Casa Cacao sources the cocoa directly from the producers and endeavours to reflect the full richness of a cocoa bean in its chocolates. “Each origin, each producer, each batch, each production shows one of the thousand faces that make up the life of cocoa: the soil in which it has grown, the climate that has determined its life, the producer’s work on the soil and on the plant, or the different processing after harvesting, especially during the fermentation and drying phases.”
