The triangular “seed” of the wild Brazil nut tree, which grows up to 45 m high, has a considerable fat content (over 60 %). Due to their many positive properties, Brazil nuts are very popular for nut mixes and trail mixes and as a baking ingredient for desserts such as brownies and cakes.
Brazil nuts should preferably be stored in a cool, dry place and consumed quickly. Due to their natural content of radium and selenium, no more than 1–2 Brazil nuts per day should be consumed.
