Walnuts “Rote Gublernuss” Switzerland

This year, we have once again received a small quantity of the rare Red Gubler Walnut from Hörhausen in the canton of Thurgau. Its most striking feature is the beautifully deep red colour of the kernels.
Developed over many years through careful selection by the Gubler family, this walnut is a true Swiss rarity. It has a rich, aromatic and distinctly nutty flavour, with a gentle sweetness and just a hint of astringency.
The walnut trees are grown using methods and inputs permitted in organic farming. Synthetic pesticides are avoided, while compost and regenerative cultivation methods are used to support healthy soils and trees.
