The roasted baru nut is a delicious snack with a flavour reminiscent of a mix between cashew and peanut. As it is a legume rather than a true nut, it is also suitable for people with nut allergies. Due to its high nutritional value and relatively low fat content, it is considered particularly healthy.
This rare delicacy comes from the Pantanal and the Cerrado savannah in southeastern Brazil, where it is wild harvested by 15 farming families and carefully processed by hand.
The harvest is entirely based on wild collection, without irrigation or intensive agriculture. The project not only strengthens local value creation, but also supports the protection of native forests and their remaining water sources.
An authentic natural product with a unique origin and a sustainable background.
