Niepoort Port Wine Tawny, 75 cl

The Niepoort Tawny represents an optimal entry into the magical world of tawnies. Lively and brilliant colour with light nutty aromas and dried fruit notes. Balanced, with young, fruity character. Long and expressive finish. The Tawny keeps well for several years, but does not gain in quality with storage. It does not contain any deposit and does not need to be decanted.
Niepoort Tawny matures for an average of three and a half years. The grapes come from low-yielding vineyards in the Cima Corgo region, in the Douro Valley. The harvest is done by hand. Foot-picked. It is largely fermented in traditional lagares before maturing in small oak barrels in the Niepoort cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.
