These Lara walnuts come from Hörhausen in the canton of Thurgau. The variety is known for its exceptionally large nuts and its particularly mild, delicately nutty and slightly sweet aroma. Their low bitterness and astringency make them especially popular.
The walnut trees are grown according to the requirements of the Swiss ecological performance standard, with compost and farmyard manure used as the main fertilisers.
