Ground bitter almonds are used to flavor baked goods such as amaretti and Christmas stollen. Very small quantities are sufficient to give a natural, intense bitter almond flavor.
Caution: Only suitable for baking or cooking. Do not eat raw!
Bitter almonds contain hydrocyanic acid and are poisonous when eaten raw. The poisonous substance only decomposes when heated. Not suitable for infant food. Keep out of reach of children.
