China green tea, Anji Bai Cha

This exceptional tea comes from Anji County in Zhejiang Province, China. Despite its name, An Ji Bai Cha is not a white tea but a highly prized green tea. The name “Bai Cha” (“white tea”) refers to the pale, almost white young leaves that appear during the early spring harvest.
An Ji Bai Cha is renowned for its naturally high content of free amino acids, particularly L-theanine. These contribute to its remarkably smooth, full-bodied character and its distinctive sweet, savoury umami flavour.
The long, delicate leaves produce a clear, pale yellow-green infusion. Its elegant aroma is beautifully layered, combining fresh vegetal notes with a gentle sweetness and a long, silky finish.
