Wild rice Canada

This Canadian wild rice is traditionally harvested by Indigenous communities using careful, labour-intensive methods. Botanically, wild rice is not true rice but the seed of a North American aquatic grass. Its long, dark brown to black grains are highly yielding and remain pleasantly firm when cooked.
Its robust, nutty flavour with subtle smoky notes makes it an aromatic side dish and a distinctive ingredient for salads, vegetable dishes and rice fillings. Wild rice is low in fat and contains comparatively high levels of protein and valuable minerals.
